The building, in the central square of the San Sisto district, looks like a large pink flying saucer landed in the city. Access to the Sandro Penna library <\/b>takes place through a small square, conceived as a meeting place and open-air foyer of the theatre.<\/p>\n

At this level there are the backlit windows, which reproduce periodically modifiable blow-ups, conceived as a large luminous book. From the reception space on the first floor, which houses the offices, a newspaper library and the periodicals area, you enter the 250-seat theatre. The second floor houses most of the books, contained in a circular library accessible via a glass gallery. At this level, a perimeter study surface allows you to fully grasp the vision of the outside: the table can be integrated with removable and modular peninsulas, which allow you to create different study spaces.<\/p>\n\t

The third level is occupied by the children’s area, equipped with light and transparent bookcases, coloured seats adapted to their height and a sliding curtain which can be used for theatrical activities.<\/p>\n 
\nIt was decided to make maximum use of natural light, which is filtered through the pink windows (a relaxing colour that promotes concentration) integrating it with artificial lighting aimed at “staging” the building for evening events related to the theatrical activity. The envelope is made of fuchsia glass panels coloured in paste, with a special structure created on a project, arranged tangentially to the elliptical profile of the building plan.\n\t\n\t\t\t\t\"biblioteca_sandro_penna_4\"\n\t\t\t\t\"biblioteca_sandro_penna_3\"\n\t
