30,000 kg (total glass weight)

The interest of this work is twofold, because it shows on the one hand the versatility of a material that can be used not only in architecture but also in urban art, and on the other hand the constructive complexity and expressive possibilities of the works it allows to be realized.

The sculpture, located near the Villa Comunale, is dedicated to the glass production process, a strategic sector for the Municipality of San Salvo. The structure, with irregular geometric shapes and equipped with a fountain, is made up of elements up to 8 meters high, for a total weight of 30,000 kg, supplied by the local Pilkington factory; the assembly took place via punctual fixing without a real load-bearing frame, but only with a series of stainless steel elements for fixing the accessories with which the large glass plates were assembled together.

On the avenue that leads to the main pyramid, there are 5 other simple pyramids with a height of 5 meters. The pyramids, like the main one, are equipped with internal artificial lighting, to create a scenographic play of colours.
