The redevelopment of the Malgrate lakefront involves the lake coast in the area in front of the historic centre.

The project has set itself the goal of restoring the relationship between the lake and passers-by, through a direct, and as little as possible mediated, relationship with the water. The intervention consists in the creation of a continuous pedestrian path, played on the alternation of sloping floors towards the border between the city and the lake. Taking advantage of the presence of an almost flat lakebed, the first section consists of a new lowe bank, where the masonry behind the observer separates it from the sight of traffic and the noise of the road, followed by a series of grassy terraces that advance up to the edge of the bank.

The lakefront of Malgrate is intended as the "living room" of the city, where to stop and contemplate the landscape in everyday life, but also suitable for small events, and lends itself to a double point of view: from the city to the lake, as a privileged view point also highlighted by the seats positioned in the most suggestive points, and from the lake to the city, with a pergola conceived as a perspective fulcrum and access gateway.

The path is characterized by a wooden walkway that redefines the bank, allows access to the dock and connects to the next pedestrian section created by the new intervention.
